ACNP Board Member, Anne Moehead OAM was recently nominated for the Judith Meppem Lifetime Achievement Award at the NSW Health Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards for 2016.
Anne attended the awards ceremony on 7 September at Parliament House, Sydney. Always humble, Anne said she felt very proud to be a nurse and to be among esteemed colleagues and other award recipients.
“It was wonderful to hear of the achievements and contributions that so many of the finalist nurses have made to nursing and midwifery and for them to receive recognition for their dedication and commitment to the people they care for”.
I would like to thank my colleagues Kathy De Souza and Peta Crawford for nominating me for the Judith Meppem Lifetime Achievement Award, in which I was one of three finalists. Although I did not win, I felt like a winner just being nominated.
I would like to encourage all nurses to make the effort and nominate your colleagues in these awards in recognition of the contributions they make to the nursing profession.
